Shelter
Provides shelter for homeless women and women with children that are not immediately fleeing domestic violence for up to six months. While clients are expected to obtain and prepare their own food, Gabriel's Horn provides other needs that are not provided on food assistance. This includes toiletries, paper products, feminine hygiene products, laundry detergent, etc. The shelter has individual sleeping rooms with a common kitchen, shared bathrooms, common gathering area, and two laundry facilities.
Safe Space
Gabriel's Horn provides a safe space for clients to work on preparing for moving to a stable living situation. Each client has a secure room for sleeping and keeping personal items. The shelter is monitored for security and safety. Only clients are allowed in the shelter, unless the person is accompanied by a staff member.
Transportation
Gabriel's Horn is able to provide transportation for residents going to appointments and getting supplies. All rides are prescheduled and depend on staff availability. As with all of our services, there is no charge to the residents.
Connection to Community Resources
Clients are supported in making connections in the community that promote financial literacy, employment opportunities, transportation, and health & wellness. Gabriel's Horn works with clients to build these connections with organizations in the community, so the client has these resources in place as they move to a stable living situation.
Post Shelter Case Management
The post shelter case management program provides support services to clients who have moved into stable housing. The program is designed to help clients maintain stable housing and connections to community resources. The Post Shelter Case Management program can help women stay housed by providing continued supportive services after their 90 days at the shelter has ended.
