Introducing the Shooting Star Campaign


Be the light that leads a family home.


Today, we are proud to officially launch the Shooting Star Campaign—a community effort to help us complete Family Promise of Porter County's new emergency family shelter.


For the past year, we've worked tirelessly to transform our new shelter into a place where families experiencing homelessness can find safety, stability, and hope. While we've made incredible progress, unexpected construction costs, permit requirements, and project updates have created one final hurdle.


Our goal is to raise $50,000 to complete the final phase of construction and open our doors to families who need us most.

This shelter will be more than just a building. It will provide private family rooms, compassionate case management, and the support families need to regain stability, secure permanent housing, and build a brighter future together.


Every donation—no matter the size—brings us one step closer to opening our doors and welcoming families home.

2023 Annual Campaign

As Gabriel’s Horn Homeless Shelter approaches their 20-year anniversary of being a registered non-profit, we are launching our Annual Campaign, “Have YOU Earned Your Wings Yet?” Our campaign goal is $36,000, which is needed to pay off our remaining mortgage on the shelter. Paying off this mortgage allows us to better serve our clients and prepare for our upcoming property renovations! It costs $45 per day to provide each client with housing, case management, counseling, transportation, and more! Any donations over $10 will receive a Gabriel’s Horn “wings” sticker to commemorate your donation, and every donation (of any amount) will receive a 501(c)(3) tax receipt.
